JSC “STS” employees perform in the international arena
In August of this year, the annual CNCERT conference was held in the video conferencing format. The main theme of the event is to ensure a secure digital space during large–scale events, as well as the development of international cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.
An employee of the KZ-CERT Computer Incident Response Team of JSC “STS” made a report on the topic “Responding to information security incidents in the Republic of Kazakhstan and international cooperation”.
The speaker demonstrated statistics on information security incidents for the 1st half of 2021 with a comparison of data from the same period in 2020 and noted that KZ-CERT receives daily information from foreign partners about C&C servers, as well as weekly generates a “List of spam distributors”, which is sent to government agencies, quasi-public sector, QUOIKI and on the official website of KZ-CERT.
The conference was attended by representatives from China, the UAE, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Australia and Indonesia. The participants also demonstrated cases related to phishing attacks that they encountered during major sporting events. In addition, the chief analyst of Alibaba Group shared information about the 4 stages of cloud technology protection (risk identification, preparation, detection and response).
Following the event, the organizers of the CNCERT Annual Conference 2021, CNCERT thanked the participants for their speeches and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation in protecting the information space of the whole world.
