Internet Traffic Exchange Point

JSC "STS" provides maintenance of Internet Traffic Exchange Points (ITEP) in the cities of Astana, Almaty, Aktau, Aktobe, Atyrau, Zhezkazgan, Karaganda, Kokshetau, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, Semey, Taldykorgan, Taraz, Uralsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk, and Shymkent.

Objectives of ITEP

• Ensure maximum interconnection of Kazakhstani operators' networks;
• Enhance information security;
• Shorten the routes of Internet traffic transmission for domestic Internet resources and improve their availability by distributing the load across the cities of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• Increase the reliability and resilience of the information systems of government bodies through direct connection to ITEP. 

Maintenance is carried out in accordance with

• The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 5, 2004, No. 567 "On Communications";
• The Order of the Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 30, 2020, No. 70/ns "On Approval of the Rules for Connecting Communication Operators' Networks to ITEP and Routing Internet Traffic.
