THE CYBER SHIELD IS WORKING IN ENHANCED MODE AND HAS REPELLED ABOUT 20 MILLION ATTACKS

As previously reported, the means of protection of the complex “Cyber Shield” JSC “State Technical Service” (JSC “STS”) are working to repel cyber attacks.

To date, in order to minimize threats, work is being carried out to analyze all network traffic in real time and each packet is checked. The cyber shield reflects attacks from the internal and external perimeter, filtering malicious traffic and malicious software. In just one month, about 20 million cyberattacks were repelled.

JSC “STS” assumes that cyber attacks are associated with the beginning of the electoral period in Kazakhstan. The main purpose of such attacks may be to disrupt the operation of the Kaznet infrastructure globally – this was stated by the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

“Certain external forces intend to sow confusion in our country in this way. They want to prevent positive changes in Kazakhstan. But we will not deviate from the chosen course,” the Head of State noted.

Note that DDoS attacks used networks of infected computers and IoT devices, called botnets, which can be distributed around the world.

Currently, the Cyber Shield is working in an enhanced mode.

For reference: A DDoS attack is a specially directed powerful stream of traffic in the form of chaotic requests to a specific Internet resource or segment of the Internet. As a result of the attack, access to the Internet becomes difficult (there may be delays in the operation of Internet services) or it stops working altogether.
